Jan. 22, 2021 — Swimming Canada announced the nomination of six swimmers to its 2021 Olympic team on Friday, along with a shift in both the dates and format of the upcoming Olympic Trials. The Trials will now move to May 24-28, and an invitational meet will follow June 21-23, with Olympic nominations to be made after both events. Jan. 20, 2021 — Swimming Canada’s invitation process for the 2021 Olympic Trials has been temporarily put on pause, a source told SwimSwam on Wednesday. Following the initial set of invites sent out on Jan. 6 , the organization has delayed the process for the time being, for unknown reasons, though athletes tell SwimSwam they believe the ongoing pandemic has led Swimming Canada to re-evaluate its plan. Swimming Canada Sends Out Invites For 2021 Olympic Trials

Jan. 6, 2021 — As previously reported , Swimming Canada will be running a reduced capacity Olympic Trials with 20 swimmers for each event swimming in a timed finals format. The Trials will run from April 7-11, 2021 in Toronto. Following a preliminary list of Canada’s top 30 swimmers in each event , invites have now been sent to the top 20 swimmers in each event. As per the invite, swimmers will have until January 15 th to accept their invitation to the meet.
