Jan. 22, 2021 — A scaled-down Shamrock Invite takes on a different format this year, as the timed finals meet will see a total of six sessions over three days. The men swam morning and afternoon sessions yesterday, then wrapped up with a morning session today, and then women will swim this afternoon and tomorrow. Instead of the normal bevy of teams, this iteration of the annual invite featured only the hosts Notre Dame and Missouri State on the men’s side, with the Fighting Irish completing a clean sweep and winning 268-86. Isabel Ivey Swims 52.9 in 100 Fly in First Meet Since Pac-12s

Sept. 5, 2020 — Pac-12 Champion and Cal All-American Isabel Ivey swam her first meet post coronavirus quarantine 2 weeks ago in Florida. Ivey, who grew up training in Florida with the Gator Swim Club in Gainesville and Laker Swim in Windermere, spent the summer back home training in Florida, though most of the Cal team has returned to Berkeley. Ivey swam, and won, 3 events at the meet as the biggest name in attendance. That included a 53.70 in the 100 yard backstroke, a 52.99 in the 100 yard fly, and a 2:02.00 in the 200 IM. Dressel Clocks 50.97 FL, Breaks Conger's PSS Record in Des Moines

March 7, 2020 — Topping off the evening in Des Moines was the men’s 100 fly final, headlined by Andrew Wilson, who won the 100 breast on Thursday. At the finish, however, Andrew slowly fatigued as Caeleb Dressel accelerated past him. At the touch, it was Dressel with the win at 50.92, breaking the 2018 PSS record held by Jack Conger (51.00). This time marks Dressel’s 11th swim under 51 seconds in the 100 fly. Outside of taper meets, this is Dressel’s 2nd-fastest swim in-season.

FSU Commit Clark Downs 100 Fly Record at Nebraska Boys' States

March 4, 2020 — The Creighton Prep boys swam to victory at the Nebraska Boys’ High School State Championships. Senior Rush Clark raced to a new Meet Record in prelims of the 100 fly, setting a lifetime best 47.21. He went on to win the final in 47.74. Clark, an FSU commit, put up a lifetime best 49.11 in the 100 back prelims. He won that race as well with a 49.54.

March 14, 2020 — Swimming is still going on strong down under, as day 2 of the 2020 New South Wales State Open Championships took place today at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Center (SOPAC). Day 1 brought super quick times across the board, including Kyle Chalmers ‘s double of a 1:57 200 fly and 48.2 100m free, but Emma McKeon was delightful as well, producing a 100m free time of 53.00 and 50 fly effort of 25.87. McKeon was back at it big time today, hitting a monster time of 56.36 to take the women’s 100m butterfly in a new All Comers Record.

Curzan has only been quicker once before this, a 57.87 that sits just off of Torri Huske’s 57.71 15-16 NAG record. This morning in yards, Curzan was 50.89, not far from her personal best of 50.35.

Katie Ledecky earned the top seed in the morning with a time of 1:56.19. She’s chasing her third title of the meet, after winning the 1,500 free and 400 free the last two nights. The second seed is Hali Flickinger, winner of Thursday’s 200 butterfly, in 1:59.16. She’s just .02 ahead of 100 free champ Siobhan Haughey, who Friday made the move to ISL club Energy Standard .

Regan Smith Re-Breaks 17-18 National Age Group Record in 100 Fly

March 7, 2020 — 18-year old Regan Smith, swimming on a short turnaround after racing the 200 back earlier in the session, re-broke her own National Age Group Record in the 100 fly on Friday evening. Smith swam a 57.34 in the final of the women’s 100 fly, finishing .01 seconds behind a season-best time from Kelsi Worrell. That improved upon her old 17-18 National Age Group Record of 57.75. That in turn broke her own record of 57.86 set in January at the Knoxville Pro Swim.

On the boys’ side, the battle for runner-up came down to the wire, as Central High School took 2nd with just 7 points over Bentonville High School. Conway’s Ty Wingfield swept the sprints en route to their team title.

Feb. 24, 2020 OHIO — In his only individual race, Khouzam, an Ohio State commit, took down the State Record in the 100 fly. He set his lifetime best 47.01 in the final, breaking the former record set by Westerville Central’s Austin Staab back in 2007, Staab went on to set the American Record in the event as he was an NCAA Champion for Stanford.
