April 5, 2020 — Jay Baker , who hails from Durham, North Carolina, has verbally committed to the in-state Tar Heels for the fall of 2021. He will join Walker Davis in the class of 2025. Baker is a versatile IMer who has a Winter U.S. Open cut in the 400 IM, Summer Juniors cuts in the 100 back and 200 back, and Winter Juniors cuts in the 1000 free and 1650 free. A junior at Durham School Of The Arts, he won the 500 free (4:29.96) and was runner-up in the 100 back (49.38) at the 2020 NCHSAA 1A/2A State Swimming & Diving Championships. Curzan Drops Lifetime Best 1:45 200 Free on Night 1 of Cary Sectionals

March 6, 2020 — 2020 CARY SECTIONALS Open water World Champion Ashley Twichell opted out of the Des Moines PSS this week, instead competing at Cary Sectionals as she represented the TAC Titans. On night 1, Twichell raced to a 9:30.02 victory in the 1000 free, her 3rd fastest performance since 2016. TAC Titans’ Charlotte Hook , a 16 year old, made a big drop behind her, taking 2nd in 9:42.51. That was a best by about 16 seconds. Teammate Brooke Zettel , also 16, broke 10:00 for the first time to take bronze in 9:53.85.
