Team Scores Nebraska traveled to Iowa City on Saturday for a dual meet against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Wisconsin was also set to participate in the meet, however, like Michigan State, they had COVID issues among the roster, and had to withdraw from the meet for safety purposes. That left the Iowa men’s team without an opponent, so they competed yesterday as an intrasquad meet. Nebraska’s Autumn Haebig was triple event winner, taking the 100, 200, and 500 frees for the Huskers. Haebig posted a 50.11 in the 100 free, getting her hand on the wall first by over half a second. South African ultra-endurance athlete Cameron Bellamy and a top team of world record breakers have chalked up another world first by rowing the more than 1,000km across the notoriously rough and icy Drake Passage. The so-called #ImpossibleRow in the custom made 25-foot long ocean rowing boat from Cape Horn in South America to the Antarctica was achieved in just 13 days instead of the predicted 21.

South African open water endurance athlete Cameron Bellamy, currently part of a team aiming for a record-breaking row across the notoriously rough and icy Drake Passage, kept things fresh on Thursday with a skinny dip off their custom row boat. Wearing only goggles and a swimming cap in the colours of the SA flag, the adventurer was pictured on Facebook plunging buck naked into the icy water while his heavily clothed rowing comrades watched in astonishment.

The Russellville boys brought home the state title at the 2020 Arkansas 5A State Championships. On the girls’ side, Mountain Home took the win in a tight race, just 14 points ahead of Russellville. While neither winning team took any event titles, they capitalized on their depth to take the victory. Jonesboro’s Bella Cothern took down her own 5A Record in the 50 free. She was just off her best in the 50 free, setting the mark in 23.18. Cothern, also set the 5A Record in the 100 free.
