NCAA Sport Science Institute Issues Next Set of Return-to-Sports Guidelines

July 17, 2020 — The NCAA Sport Science Institute has released guidelines to help schools with navigating a return to fall sports this upcoming school year, according to a release from the NCAA and a report from ESPN. The guidelines include daily self-heath checks as well as testing athletes within 72 hours of competition in high contact risk sports. Fall sports have been in danger the last few weeks of not being played, and several conferences across all three divisions, including the Ivy League and NESCAC among others, have already indicated their schools will not be competing in fall sports, which ...

July 9, 2020 — Stanford University will cut 11 of its varsity sports teams following the 2020-21 school year, it announced Wednesday . The teams include men’s and women’s fencing, field hockey, lightweight rowing, men’s rowing, co-ed and women’s sailing, squash, synchronized swimming, men’s volleyball and wrestling. April 1, 2020 — Emily Appleton , a senior at Cohasset High School and a member of Weymouth Club Waves in Weymouth, Massachusetts, has announced her commitment to swim for Dartmouth College in the fall of 2020, making her a 2nd generation attendee. A distance swimmer and Open Water Nationals qualifier, Appleton would have finished in the top 20 in both the 500 and 1,650-yard freestyles at the 2020 Ivy League Championships. 2020 Zone A: Virginia Women Add 2 More NCAA Divers On Day 2

March 10, 2020 — The Virginia women are getting boost after boost to their NCAA title hopes this week: two more divers qualified for NCAAs Tuesday, bringing the Cavaliers to 3 women’s divers invited. Senior Sydney Dusel won the 3-meter event today in Zone A, putting herself as the #1 priority diver invited out of the Zone on the women’s side. Dusel was second on 1-meter yesterday. Though Zone A isn’t necessarily a powerhouse diving zone nationally, Dusel’s performances this week could put her in the mix to score points at NCAAs next week.
