According to NISCA, the tournament is intended to create a fun activity in light of the coronavirus pandemic, especially since swim meets around the country have been canceled. In order to enter, teams had to fill out a form and include their top times all-time for their entries. Each swimmer was allowed to “swim” up to two individual events and two relays like they would in a traditional high school dual meet. Madelyn Christman from Fishers, Indiana has announced her verbal commitment to remain in state and swim for the University of Notre Dame. Christman is a junior at Carmel High School. She swims year-round for Carmel Swim Club. Essentially a long axis stroke specialist, she is a 2020 Olympic Trials qualifier in the 200 back, a Summer Juniors qualifier in the 100 back and 200 IM, and a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 50/100 free and 400 IM. The psych sheets for the 2020 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships have been finalized with the line set at 37 & 38. The meet will be held two weeks from today at the University of Georgia. Stanford is the three-time defending champion but will have its hands full with Virginia and arch rival Cal.
