The Pac-12 announced its Winter Academic Honor Roll recipients on Tuesday, with a total of 152 swimmers and divers being recognized from eight different teams. Overall there were 304 student-athletes receiving the honor, which requires them to hold a spot on their respective team roster, have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above, and have served at least one year in residence at the institution. There is no longer a selection process to determine all-academic teams for each sport. The Stanford women led the way for swimming & diving with 18 making the cut, while the Cardinal men had 12. ...

Emilio “Lio” Perez of the Elmbrook Swim Club in suburban Milwaukee has verbally committed to Arizona State. Perez, a junior at Greenfield High School, is a member of the high school class of 2021. He was the Wisconsin High School Division I (big schools) runner-up in the 100 fly in February in 47.97, culminating a championship season that saw him drop almost a second-and-a-half from his previous lifetime best. The 2020 men’s Pac-12 Championships concludes tonight with finals of the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, platform diving, and 400 free relay. Cal has pretty much locked up the title at this point, with Arizona State in good position to take 2nd. Arizona and Stanford have an outside shot to take that runner-up spot. 2020 MEN’S PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIPS The first individual medal races of the 2020 men’s Pac-12 Championships take place tonight, as swimmers gear up for the 500 free, 200 IM, and 50 free. After taking a redshirt last season, Stanford’s Grant Shoults looks to return to the top of the 500 free podium.
