Stanford University has landed another big recruit for the 2021-22 season, this time from Bellevue, Wash. native and U.S. National Junior Team member Amy Tang . She will join Anna Shaw, Samantha Tadder, Torri Huske and Meghan Lynch, as well as diver Lauren Burch, as a member of the Cardinal’s class of 2025. At the 7th FINA World Junior Championships last summer in Budapest, Tang swam the third leg on the winning mixed 4x100m free relay along with Luca Urlando, Adam Chaney, and Gretchen Walsh.

Anna Shaw has given her verbal pledge to Stanford University beginning in the fall of 2021. She will join Samantha Tadder , Torri Huske and Meghan Lynch , as well as diver Lauren Burch , as a member of the Cardinal’s class of 2025. Regarding her commitment, she said: “Beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and continue my academics at Stanford University. It is an absolute dream come true and I can’t thank my family, coaches and friends enough for all their support through this process.

2020 Olympic Head Coach for the Women’s Swim team Greg Meehan took the time to walk SwimSwam through what moving into the now 2021 Olympic year will look like. Meehan explained that it takes a lot of time to develop a 4-year plan, especially planning for that year leading up to an Olympic Games. Stanford senior Katie Drabot was trying to wrap her head around the fact that she and her Cardinal teammates were not going to get a chance at swimming for an NCAA four-peat.
