Swimming legend Michael Phelps has taken to Instagram to announce that he will be contributing to the ‘Athlete’s For COVID-19 Relief Fund’. All funds raised by this initiative are going directly to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s (CDP) COVID-19 Response Fund with the goal of supporting “preparedness, containment, response and recovery activities for those affected and for the responders.” Phelps will be donating a “game worn” suit, cap, and goggles to the cause. Olympian Melanie Margalis had a huge swim in the 400 IM on night 3 of the 2020 Pro Swim Series in Des Moines. Margalis, a Georgia postgrad, dominated the event in 4:32.53. She’s now the 4th fastest American woman in history in the event and the fastest currently active U.S. swimmer by far.

Two important swim meets ran last weekend the Atlanta Classic and the Bloomington TYR Pro Series.
In Atlanta, Caeleb Dressel showed his training is on track when he beat Chase Kalisz in the 200 Butterfly with a personal best of 1:56.29.
In Bloomington, Lilly King led the Indiana contingent when she swam this year's #1 world spots in the 50 breast (30.03) and the 100 breast (1:05.68).

14-year old Natalie Mannion from the Commonwealth Current made history on Sunday: the final day of the 2018 New England Swimming Senior Championships. She swam a 2:14.65 to win the 200 meter backstroke, which was her first Summer Nationals cut, and won by 3 seconds over Bluefish 15-year old Summer Smith (2:17.73) – a swimmer who had a huge meet of her own.
