May 5, 2021 — COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second-straight year, San Diego State’s Klara Thormalm has been named the Mountain West Swimmer of the Year as voted on by the league’s head coaches. Wyoming’s Melissa Mirafuentes was selected as the MW Diver of Year, while UNLV’s Ben Loorz was named Swimming Coach of the Year and Wyoming’s Ted Everett earned Diving Coach of the Year.

Feb. 20, 2021 — LAS VEGAS – San Diego State took back the lead at the 2021 Mountain West Swimming & Diving Championships after medaling in four of the day’s events, including a Conference championship-record performance from swimmer Klara Thormalm. Thormalm set a new Mountain West championship record in the 100-yard breaststroke after recording a time of 59.14 in the preliminary heats, breaking her own record she set at last year’s championship.
