The 2021 South Australia State Open & Multi-Class Swimming Championships kicks off on Friday, January 22nd, marking the first of three flagship events on the SA calendar. Held at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre, more than 600 athletes are slated to take part in the 3-day affair, stemming from regional and metropolitan SA as well as from other states. London Olympian and two-time Commonwealth Games breaststroke gold medalist Leiston Pickett has revealed the agonizing decision to leave her long time coach to re-ignite her Olympic dream. Twenty-eight-year-old Pickett has made the move from her coach of 14-years, Glenn Baker (Southport Olympic) on Queensland’s Gold Coast to Marion Swim Club (Adelaide) coach Peter Bishop – with Olympic champion Kyle Chalmers and fellow 2016 Olympians Madi Wilson and Travis Mahoney.
