Claire Curzan won her second event of the meet tonight, finishing first in the 200 butterfly with a 1:53.75. That time for Curzan was just a little bit over her previous best of 1:53.59 from earlier this year. Curzan came in as the only sub-2:00 as fellow national teamer Charlotte Hook was a 2:00.94 for second and Taylor Bloom followed with a 2:02.94. That swim for Hook was more than 7 seconds slower than her entry time. Curzan’s TAC teammate Brooke Zettel swam to a top-3 finish in back to back events on the final night of the meet, winning the 200 backstroke in a 2:00.11 and placing ...

The 2020 Speedo Sectionals Cary continued Saturday from North Carolina as some of the Tar Heel State’s best performed some solid in-season times on Saturday night. 16-year-old Charlotte Hook of the TAC Titans was a two-time winner with an impressive 2:09.55 in the 200 butterfly to start the night. Hook is a rising star in the United States and should be a big factor for the national team in a couple of years. She also won the 400 freestyle to end the night with a 4:18.41, just ahead of 15-year-old Morgan Razewski (4:19.75) of Swim MAC Carolina.

The 2020 Cary Sectionals continued on Saturday in North Carolina. Tac Titan’s Claire Curzan posted a 22.44 to lead the 50 free heats. Curzan then swam to a best time in long course. She won the final in 25.33, knocking 2 tenths off her former best from 2018. Curzan, a 15-year-old, now ranks #13 all-time among U.S. 15-16 age group.

On the same night that 17-year-old broke the national age group record in the 17-18 age group with a 57.3, 15-year-old Claire Curzan swam an impressive 58.00 at the Speedo Sectionals Cary meet in North Carolina. Curzan is second all-time in the 15-16 age group behind Torri Huske , who was a 57.48 in December. Curzan’s best is a 57.8 and she has been dubbed as a swimmer to watch out for in the next couple of years. Curzan of the TAC Titans also won the 200 freestyle minutes earlier with a 2:02.27.

2020 CARY SECTIONALS With several standout performances this morning in yards, tonight’s finals saw TAC Titans 15-year-old Claire Curzan post a 58.00 in the 100 fly in long course. Curzan has only been quicker once before this, a 57.87 that sits just off of Torri Huske’s 57.71 15-16 NAG record. This morning in yards, Curzan was 50.89, not far from her personal best of 50.35.
